Singer and U.K. pop talent show judge Cheryl Cole was allegedly blanked by fellow judge and music mogul Simon Cowell after she attempted to heal a rift with the notorious lothario by inviting him to her 30th birthday bash.
Cheryl Cole, nowadays also known as Cheryl Tweedy after her painful divorce from her footballer husband Ashley, has told media of her wish to rebuild her shattered friendship with Cowell. Following a spat over work on The X Factor three years ago, Cole recently reached out to Simon Cowell by inviting him to the swanky do, but unfortunately, according to British celebrity magazine OK!, the recording label boss apparently ‘had better things to do’.

A source close to the former Girls Aloud singer told tabloid paper The Mirror that Cheryl’s people had forwarded an invitation to Simon as she had wanted him very much to show up and heal the rift that had demolished their once-strong friendship and business dealings.
The source told a Mirror celebrity news reporter that ““he’s been a big part of her life and, despite their falling out, she sees him as an old friend who she was very close to once. She was hoping he’d make it so is a little disappointed he won’t be there.“
Cheryl and her new squeeze Tre Holloway had organised a (relatively, by popstar standards) simple party for her third decade of life with a few close family and friends, spread over two days. The bash is being held in Los Angeles, California, USA with an entertainment and catering budget of £50,000 (US$76,050). According to Cole’s spokesperson, she wanted to start with a clean slate with the people she has met and partied with over her 11-year musical career “She has put all their differences aside and moved on in her life.”
Simon however allegedly declined the invite, citing a heavy workload. He runs a music recording label, Syco, and has numerous bands and solo singers on his books.
Despite Cowell’s no-show, Cheryl celebrated her 30th year in style and this morning thanked her nearly four million fans on Twitter for their birthday wishes. She tweeted “Awwww!!! Thank you all sooo much for my birthday wishes…. you are the sweetest!!!!!!”, as she was overjoyed by the support she has received from her hordes of loyal devotees.

Cheryl Cole’s rift with the shiny-toothed one dates back to when she made a life-changing career move from the British X-Factor to its American counterpart. She had struggled with her judging duties on this side of the pond after a potentially fatal bout of malaria coupled with the stress from her husband’s infidelity and sudden breakdown of their marriage. Simon offered her a change of scene (and country), but fired her from the judge’s panel after only four days in the job. They patched things up last year with Cole returning to British shores for the latest series of the hit music show, but the cracks were still clear.
Despite some bridges still needing repairing between the two celebs, Cole is optimistic that her and Si will be best buds again. But could Simon’s snub be the final flame that burns those bridges to ashes?
