The Half-Eaten Mind has been nominated for the Sunshine Award by life and photo blogger Don Charisma. This will be the third time we have been nominated for a version of the Sunshine. Our first nomination was in May 2013 by Jill London, who awarded HEM a bulk lot of seven awards. The sun shone on the Half-Eaten Mind again in the run up to the Christmas period at the end of last year, when we was nominated for our second dose of sunrays by Ajay. As per our award rules, we can accept nominations if they are given for a previously accepted award provided the badge design is different from before.
The Don has been awarded a hefty six times for this award by six different bloggers. They were Maryam Jamil, MRS N the Author, prayingforoneday, rmudge and sassymikee. The awards given to Don spanned a period of around three months from the end of October 2013 to January 2014.
The Sunshine Award, of unknown origins, was created as a means of getting bloggers to know each other and to encourage the blogging community to discover each other through links to their respective sites, which is said to be very good for search engine optimisation, according to futureexpat.com. Kammi, a blogger in the United Kingdom, who writes for the Beauty Book Blog, also adds that the Sunshine Award is “given to bloggers who are positive, inspiring, creative or whos (sic) blog you just really enjoy reading”.

Section 2: 10 Interesting things about me
ONE :- For some reason, I find the smell of musk incredibly relaxing and reminiscent of a fresh English country garden.
TWO :- In my life I have worked in the stationary department of a sub post-office, a pharmacy, a shipping and freight firm that exported to east Africa and as a leaflet distributor all over London and the Home Counties.
THREE :- My sister is in the middle of hooking me up with a potential job working as a journalist. She knows someone who has links with the main local paper in my home district in London. That paper is known as the Newham Recorder.
FOUR :- Many times in my life, I have had vivid dreams of falling from a height. I have no idea why that is, but I do have a fear of heights, so that may be connected.
SIX :- This summer, I may be going to Chessington World of Adventures with some mates. Sadly this is my first time I have been able to visit the theme park attraction.
SEVEN :- I once corresponded briefly with a pandit (Hindu priest) who had a specialty as an astrologer. According to him, my chances of getting married will be very good after June 2014.
EIGHT: I am technically a supporter of the English football team Manchester United. However my youngest brother supports Chelsea. This is the cause of some subdued sibling rivalry and the little bro frequently is the butt of jokes at his expense.
NINE :- I have become a huge fan of scarves and shemaghs (Arabian cloths that are usually worn as head coverings). I have now two scarves, one of which was a Christmas present from my mother, and two shemaghs – a black-on-white one and a black-on-green version.
TEN :- I have a gap in my front teeth which means I can spit out water through said gap rather like a human water pistol. I also heard many eons ago that if you have a gap between your incisors you will become rich. I am still waiting for that fat pay cheque with the long line of zeroes.
