WALL’S AWARDS: Two award noms from the House of Grimm

On the 17th March, 2014, the Half-Eaten Mind received another two awards – this time from author and blogger Sage Doyle. These are the The I’m NOT Featured On Freshly Pressed Award and the Dragon’s Loyalty Award.

Sage Doyle is an American-based author who writes stories and poetry on his blogs and via the fictional journal “The Journal of Wall Grimm. The Wall Grimm in the title is a 24-year-old man who lives in the United States but traces his family’s origins from a clan of Sicilian Romani (Gypsies) who came to America to start a new life and dream. To make sense of his life, its twists and its turns, he began penning a journal. He is a multi-faceted character with a multitudinous personality, loving vices and hobbies in equal measure. In between his convoluted journey of self-discovery, Wall has seemingly found his niche as a diarist of sorts. Not quite Anne Frank or Samuel Pepys, but many leagues above the self-absorbed status hogs running riot on social media networks these days.

I’m the guy in the kilt, the kilted cowboy gunslinger, an unpredictable, sometimes dangerous guy, usually reckless, but quiet and antisocial.  I’m the go-to reliable guy, a loser, a gypsy pagan great guy to have around for Beltane.  And though I’m cool, I’m the guy who farts noxious fumes in class.  I’m the hot older guy, a lost cause, and I’m sometimes liked.  I am Grimm.  I am Wall Grimm.

In addition to Wall’s musings, the Journal includes the novel of Amon-Re, which was originally created by Doyle but now currently ascribed to Wall. The novel details the life of a man with an Ancient Egyptian name, carrying a sharp mind but albeit one addled by a debilitating drug addiction. He keeps his sanity through prose and poetry while passing time between two cities in an age before mobile phones and computers but also an age which is never formally stated. The blog also features an alphabetical set of lists of other important characters in Grimm’s life and a special page dedicated to his best friend and perhaps soulmate Emma.

Sage also maintains another blog, named after himself. “SageDoyle ~ Fiction & Poetry” where he produces his own contemporary fiction and poetry and the birthplace of the character of Wall Grimm. For younger readers, please note that the Journal does have R-rated language and content which may be explicit and therefore not suitable for children.

However as I have previously accepted both these awards before, but as separate versions, I will suspend the rules this time round as I have already followed them previously too. I will however nominate seven lucky bloggers to receive nominations as of course the spirit of sharing is of paramount importance to the very nature of these beauties. So without further ado, I hereby name the special winners!!
