DISTRICT LINE: Disruption alert reported, signal failure at Barking

London, United Kingdom

London commuters using the District Line, the west-east transit line on the city’s Underground public transport network, have being warned that there is a disruption alert for the eastern stretch of the line owing to a signal failure in the Barking area.

The disruption was reported shortly after 9 a.m. local time and the Twitter account for the District Line, run by service provider Transport for London (TfL) announced that there were severe delays for trains between Plaistow and Dagenham East stations, affecting a ten-mile stretch of track.

Travellers are being urged to seek alternative routes and to check TfL’s online ‘Journey Planner’ facility for updates on the delay and to find other ways of making their trip.
