Today’s bulletin comes from the official HEMNA ‘Informa Accounts’ list on Twitter. Digital TV Europe magazine reports on their ‘Top Story of the Week’ – Nordic telco and cable operator Tele2 has withdrawn its financial guidance for the year and postponed a planned share dividend for investors as the company’s revenues take a fall due to the coronavirus crisis. Digital TV revenues in Sweden for the first quarter were down 6 per cent, which, along with a sharp decline in fixed voice, offset gains in mobile post-paid and fixed broadband sales and solid growth in the Baltic states. Disputes over streaming rights for Tele2’s digital television services were also a contributing factor, the magazine reports – Tele2 pulls financial guidance as coronavirus and TV decline takes toll (Digital TV Europe/Informa)

As the coronavirus continues to play havoc with lives and economies, the Singapore Maritime Week was the latest industry event to be cancelled. The editor of Informa-owned company Lloyd’s List, the world’s oldest continually-running shipping magazine, released a podcast on what would have been the most significant event in the maritime industry in south-east Asia. Instead, Richard Meade issued an edition of The Shipping Podcast where leading lights in Singapore’s maritime sector discuss how everyone is coping with the pandemic. Guests include Esben Poulsson, chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping and shipping expert Punit Oza – The Lloyd’s List Podcast: The View from Singapore (Lloyd’s List/Informa)
