This Sunday morning, the news comes from Facebook.
The Duchess of Cambridge has been joined by a bevvy of famous faces for the ladies’ final of Wimbledon today, from Killing Eve star Jodie Comer to actress Rebel Wilson. Another A-lister who has a prime spot in the royal box for today’s match between Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina play Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur is Tom Cruise. The Top Gun icon has had royal fans in stitches on social media after a photograph of him staring at the Duchess of Cambridge was released. A picture of Kate in the royal box has gained a great deal of attention with royal fans online predominately because of her A-List admirer sitting a few rows back. One person wrote: “I think that’s what you call ‘major crushing’ on the Duchess of Cambridge”. Another agreed, saying: “Beautiful Kate, look at the lady how she is looking at Kate also.” And a third added: “It’s wonderful to see a BIG star like Tom showing appreciation for Catherine.” Tom Cruise was pictured with The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge back in May when they attended the London premiere of his movie ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ – Kate Middleton fans joke ‘we don’t blame you’ as Tom Cruise is ‘caught staring’ at Wimbledon (MyLondon ~ News – UK & World News – Tom Cruise)
Outrage over Sri Lanka’s collapsing economy came to a boil on Saturday when tens of thousands of protesters stormed the colonial-era residence of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and later set the prime minister’s house on fire. The protesters, many holding the Sri Lankan flag, swarmed into Rajapaksa’s colonial-era fortified residence and the presidential secretariat. The protesters later broke into Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s private residence and set it on fire. The events on Saturday were the culmination of months of anti-government protests fuelled by an unprecedented economic crisis that bankrupted the South Asian island nation. BRITAIN is braced for the hottest day ever next week when the mercury could hit a staggering 43C. The sweltering conditions would “obliterate” the UK’s previous record of 38.7C measured at Cambridge Botanic Garden in July 2019. It comes as Brits flocked to beaches and parks yesterday in a bid to keep cool as temperatures closed in on 30C. Met Office forecaster Steven Keates said: “We’re in for a real rollercoaster which may take people by surprise. “Next weekend we could have some really exceptional record-breaking heat and it will ramp up suddenly — like someone has turned on the gas. “Some models from America indicate we could see 43C in East Anglia next Sunday, which would obliterate the current UK record” – RED HOT Britain could see hottest day ever next week with experts saying temperatures might hit staggering 43C (The Sun ~ News – UK News)
