India’s Kotak Mahindra Bank reported a 31% increase in standalone net profit for the October-December quarter, driven by a strong topline and healthy loan growth. The private lender’s profit was 27.92 billion rupees ($344.2 million) compared to 21.31 billion rupees in the same period last year. Net interest income rose 30.4% from a year ago to 56.53 billion rupees and other income rose nearly 54%. The bank’s advances grew by more than 23%, while deposits rose by nearly 13% YoY. The bank’s current account and savings account (CASA) ratio was at 53.3% as on Dec. 31. Arsenal Football Club has announced the signing of Leandro Trossard, a forward from Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club, on a long-term contract. The value and duration of the contract have not been disclosed. Trossard will add to Arsenal’s attacking options and replaces Brazil forward Gabriel Jesus who is injured. The transfer comes after Arsenal missed out on signing Mykhailo Mudryk, who was instead purchased by Chelsea for 100-million-euros.
