MOVEMBER: UK charity launches annual moustache-growing drive to fight cancer

Ilford – VIJAY SHAH British charity The Movember Foundation has launched its yearly Movember campaign to highlight its war on prostate cancer, which claims the lives of 11,000 men a year in the UK and will affect one in eight British males, according to figures by Prostate Cancer UK. Every November, men are encouraged to grow moustaches in any style they choose to help raise money to help fight cancer, as well as partake in other fundraising activities. LYNDA BELLINGHAM: ‘Oxo Mum’ only weeks to live

British television actress Lynda Bellingham, famed for playing the matriarch of a Sunday roast-loving family in the Oxo advertisements of the 1980s to the 1990s, has revealed that she is suffering from terminal cancer and has only a few weeks to live. National tabloid the Daily Mirror reports that Ms. Bellingham will give up chemotherapy treatment and has ‘chosen the date I will die’ but hopes to spend one more Christmas with her real-life family. ASHYA KING: Seriously ill UK child found in Spain, parents detained

Ashya King, the five-year-old Hampshire child who was taken by his parents as they fled with him and several of his siblings to the Continent while he was about to undergo critical radiotherapy treatment for cancer, has been found safe and well, reports British tabloid Metro. King, who suffers from a brain tumour, was taken from his hospital bed at Southampton General Hospital in southern England by his parents Brett and Naghemeh, both said to be devout Jehovah’s Witnesses ( a branch of Christianity which does not permit medical blood transfusions). IBRAHIM TOURE: Brother of famous footballers passes away

Ibrahim Toure, the younger sibling of world-class Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) footballers Yaya and Kolo Toure, has died. The Cote d’Ivoire football team announced the passing of the third Toure brother yesterday in an official statement witnessed by the Bleacher Report. The Ivory Coast Football Association also stated that the remaining brothers have been deeply affected by Ibrahim’s passing away, which happened in the English city of Manchester this past Thursday.
